Located on the
site of an abandoned water treatment plant, site improvements to Waterworks
Park were designed to take advantage of existing infrastructure. Developed
in a four-phase project (2000, 2001, 2004, and 2005), the design included a
new road, walking trail, drainage improvements, two parking lots (21 stall
and 17 stall), a fishing pond, an observation tower overlooking the Maumee
River, and demolition of a former treatment plant. The improvements were
constructed in 2005 at an estimated cost of $88,000.
