Working closely
with Village leaders and various municipal committees, Proudfoot Associates
designed a streetscape project along North Third Street in downtown
Waterville. The plans include reconstructing a parking lot with new
drainage; a stone retaining wall; new period style light poles; outdoor
electric receptacles; street trees, tree grates and tree guards; street
furniture; an irrigation system; pavement markings and signage; and the
installation of water and sanitary services for a restroom building.
Engineers at Proudfoot Associates have been working with a local
architectural firm on the project, which will also involve a rest room
facility with a decorative clock tower. The
project boundaries include North Third Street from Farnsworth Road to
Mechanic Street, The Wooden Gate Parking Lot, and off roadway areas bounded
by North Third Street, Farnsworth Road, Anthony Wayne Trail and Mechanic
Street. The project was partially funded through the State of Ohio,
Department of Development, Main Street Program. Construction is scheduled
for completion in 2008 at a cost of $899,000.
