Engineers from Proudfoot Associates are evaluating the shoreline erosion
currently affecting the swimming beach on
Lake Erie at
East
Harbor
State Park.
The study area extends from the northern most breakwater to the East Harbor
Jetty (approximately two miles of shoreline.) The project will involve
field work, review and evaluation of historical data, a public information
plan, and the preparation of recommendations and cost estimates. A report
on these findings will address both the geotechnical and coastal aspects
relevant to shoreline erosion and to provide a technical basis for any
proposed shoreline improvements to re-establish the beach.
